What does Wakebound require?
A compatible iPhone running iOS 26.1 or later, AlarmKit permission, camera access for scanning, and notifications for the gentle wake-check reminder.
What if my first alarm is ignored?
Wakebound schedules a recovery chain before the first ring. The mission stays due until the required barcode flow is completed, and the next recovery alarm remains ready.
How does Power Nap work?
Choose a duration and a saved barcode. Wakebound schedules a one-time native alarm plus recovery protection, shows the countdown through a Live Activity, and requires the barcode when the nap ends.
Why will my barcode not scan?
Use even lighting, keep the whole code inside the frame, avoid glare, and move slightly farther away. The registered value must match exactly.
What if the physical barcode is unavailable?
Every alarm has a deliberately high-friction emergency route. If you enabled a backup barcode or two-location route, try that checkpoint first.
Does Wakebound upload my camera or alarm data?
No. Barcode recognition runs live on the iPhone, and alarm plans, barcode values, and wake history stay on the device.
Can any alarm app guarantee a wake-up?
No. iPhone power, settings, permissions, hardware, and iOS behavior can affect alarm delivery. Use another trusted alarm for safety-critical obligations.
